Imagen Diagnóstica adheres to the authorship and contributorship recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and follows the best practices and ethical guidance provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made a substantial intellectual contribution to the conception or design of the study; acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data; drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content; approving the final version of the manuscript; and agreeing to be accountable for all aspects of the work.
All authors must meet the ICMJE authorship criteria and should have participated sufficiently in the research to take public responsibility for its content. Individuals who contributed to the study but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately, with their permission.
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all eligible contributors are included as authors, that no inappropriate authorship practices such as guest, honorary, or ghost authorship have occurred, and that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript before submission.
Authors are encouraged to provide a clear statement describing the specific contributions of each author, such as study design, data collection, statistical analysis, manuscript preparation, supervision, or funding acquisition.
Requests for changes in authorship, including the addition, removal, or rearrangement of authors after submission, must be accompanied by a written explanation and signed consent from all authors involved. The Editorial Office may require additional documentation before approving such changes.
Imagen Diagnóstica reserves the right to investigate suspected authorship disputes or unethical authorship practices in accordance with COPE guidance and established publication ethics procedures. Manuscripts found to involve authorship misconduct may be rejected, corrected, or retracted as appropriate.
