The journal follows the ethical principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) regarding informed consent and the handling of personal information.

Authors must obtain written informed consent from participants prior to conducting research involving human subjects, patient information, clinical data, photographs, radiological images, videos, or any other material that could potentially identify an individual. For minors or individuals unable to provide consent, permission must be obtained from a parent, guardian, or legally authorized representative.

The data and information of individuals, including information obtained through a doctor–patient relationship, must be treated with the highest levels of confidentiality, respect, and professional discretion. Identifiable patient information should not be published unless it is scientifically essential and explicit consent for publication has been obtained.

Authors should state within the manuscript that informed consent was obtained from participants, and the Editorial Office may request supporting documentation at any stage of the editorial process. All patient identifiers, including names, initials, hospital numbers, and other personal details, must be removed or anonymized unless specific consent for disclosure has been granted.

Imagen Diagnóstica reserves the right to reject manuscripts that fail to demonstrate appropriate informed consent procedures, compromise patient confidentiality, or do not comply with recognized ethical and legal standards. Suspected violations will be handled in accordance with COPE guidance and established publication ethics procedures.
